From the start of 2024, the PHOENIX Phamily has been actively learning from our peers and industry leaders through several conferences. Our membership in three impactful organizations allowed several members of the Sustainability Team to learn about the latest developments in sustainable packaging, recycling, and energy-saving manufacturing processes.
In April, the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) held their annual meeting. Attendance at this conference gives PHOENIX a deep understanding of the successes and challenges of plastic recycling, as well as provides input in developing policies that strengthen and improve the recycling system.
Also in April, both The Sustainable Packaging Coalition and the Better Plants Summit, an arm of the U.S. Department of Energy, hosted conferences. PHOENIX had four team members learn from industry experts on greenhouse gas emissions, waste and water consumption and conservation, eco-friendly packaging design, plastic waste reduction, and several other topics that will help PHOENIX meet our ambitious sustainability goals.
PHOENIX encourages all our employees to seek out opportunities to increase their expertise and expand their knowledge through the many industry conferences offered throughout the year.
